The FiveStar Story & Five Generations
The Fivestar Story
At FiveStar, our mission is to serve serious home chefs like you. That commitment to the culinary community began in 1935, when Grover Cleveland Brown offered his first cooking products. The tradition carried on through his son, grandson, great-grandson, and now the 5th Generation is here to serve you. All have been passionate about food and perfection. That's why every FiveStar range is hand-crafted to meet exact quality standards right here in America. And every FiveStar feature is designed to ensure you have all the tools you need to cook your favorite recipes to their flavorful best.
The FiveStar Commitment to Excellence
FiveStar is committed to building the highest quality professional style ranges for use in home kitchens. Since the introduction of the first FiveStar ProStyle range in 1990, our ranges have received numerous awards for their outstanding craftsmanship, performance and design, including four Best Buy Awards of Excellence from Consumers Digest, and multiple Design Journal ADEX Awards for Design Excellence.
More importantly, our commitment to excellence is reflected in the very few service calls we receive from our customers. In fact, FiveStar has one of the lowest service call rates in the industry. In the unlikely event that your FiveStar range ever does require service, trained representatives from our Parts & Service Department are available to provide support for our authorized service professionals throughout the country.

Making History
John C. Rogers - my great grandfather - was born in Greenwich, Scotland in 1851. In his youth his family immigrated to the USA and settled in Elizabethport, N.J. By the end of 1870 he was an accomplished apprentice in iron molding. In 1872, John C. Rogers moved to Chicago, IL and lived there as an outstanding foundry-man. In 1882 he was called upon to fill the position of foreman at Cribben & Sexton - a mid size foundry - until 1887 when he then established his own company Home Stove Works on the corner of Rockwell and Van Horn.
Through the next two generations, Home Stove Works became Crown Stove Works and paved the way in stove innovation in the US for decades - improving the home stove industry and employing hundreds in the process. Enjoy the historical photos of decades past below.
As a youngster I admired the history of the stove company my family had created through the years ... and while the company no longer exists - my abilities to understand what makes a great stove have not! I created Crown Midwest Sales in homage to my family roots.
Being five generations in the stove business - I have have seen it all! I know quality when I see it and FiveStar stoves give the at-home chef a commercial style oven that will last the test of time and impress you with its quality and capability.
